LINEAR AIR BEARINGS

Dicing Saw Air Box and Beam Repair

Repaired Disco Air Box and Granite Beams

Dicing saws require a critically smooth and flat translation of the wafer chuck.  To accomplish this manufacturers employ linear air bearings.  Failures occur when minute orifices in the air box can become clogged due to contamination. This results in uneven support of the wafer chuck or even a crash.

When the air box crashes damage to the beams can result. High Speed Technologies, Inc. repairs linear air bearings including the air boxes and beams used on dicing saws. We can repair most air boxes in 7 to 10 days. Expedited service is available at additional cost. Why wait 7 to 10 weeks and pay double the price when we can repair air boxes in 7 to 10 days?

Granite beams can be resurfaced to AAA specifications. Aluminum beams can be repaired and new hard coat surface applied. With our proprietary methods sub-micron orifices are cleaned and air flow balanced. Beam repair normally takes two to three weeks.

Damaged granite and aluminum beams are finished to AAA specification that exceeds OEM requirements.

Sub-Micron air box orifice is clogged with contamination. This greasy contamination was forced deep into the orifice and required specialized techniques to restore and re-balance the air flow.

A microscopic piece of Teflon impedes air flow in this orifice. When installing air lines and setting up equipment extraordinary care must be taken to avoid the entrance of even microscopic particles into the air lines.

Using proprietary methods HST restored this minute orifice to original goodness.
